Child Abuse dealing with sexual offences
Kensington I was born here and have been doing community service since the Apartheid days.
Mitchell's Plain, Khayelitsha Overcrowded schools does not allow the kids in these communities to develop at their fullest
Hazendal, Bokmakierie the area has loads of potential due to the resources for support neighbouring them, however a mindset shift towards encouraging youth be pro-social is required in order to break stereotypical behaviour patterns within the area
The Cape Town Creative and Cultural space It is very much a neglected and under-funded space, yet it has the most potential to attract and impact on a diverse, intergenerational and cross-section within the community. Intervention in this space can transcend race, age, gender, beliefs and class.
Kensington Youth falling into drugs, teenage pregnancy and unemployment
Heaven's Nest caring for abandoned children
Kraaifontein There are such a lot of young people that have no education or some have education, but are trapped in drug related incidents.
Heideveld, Manenberg, Hanover Park, Silvertown, Kewtown Unemployment and abuse are high and most people there live in abject poverty.
Athlone It is the community that I am currently living in.

Paarl There are a number of rural areas where there is no income in households.
Kuilsriver Lack of support Mitchell's Plain As a resident in
Mitchell's Plain, I'm fully aware of the societal ills that have plagued the area for many years - from unemployment, gangsterism, teenage pregnancy to crime and drug abuse.

Retreat, Steenberg I am a resident here
Athlone It is the area of my residence and where I am most active.
Vrygrond, Capricorn, Lavender Hill, Retreat The community across the road from where I live (Marina da Gama). I do work with projects there
Southern Suburbs, Mowbray, Saltriver Although its thought to be in a better area, there are too many street children, homeless, drugs & prostitution
Bridgetown I grew up there and spend 28 years of my life there
Lavender Hill It is one of the communities that has been under siege for a long time and where ordinary people struggle with agency to address serious concerns
Hout Bay it is where I live
Belhar This community have lots of young people who don't have access to basic recreational opportunities
Salt River Grew up in this area
Wynberg Used to reside in this area
Mitchells Plain The church I attend and serve at is doing their bit by making a positive impact in the lives of all in MPlain, young and old. There is a lot of potential. I want to see MPlain flourish as the talented and passionate individuals from here can be a blessing to others.
The Homeless They are right on my door step and many of their lives just waste away right in front of me.
Atlantis It had so much promise but now is really the 'lost city'
Houtbay, Philippi Active involvement-developmental needs exist
Khayelitsha, Philippi Both communities are close to me because I grew up in Philippi and worked in Khayelitsha thus I am aware of Socio economic challenges.
Woodstock, Cape Town I believe that the kids in these schools are not expose to the business world and opportunities available to them
Kensington Unemployed Youth with no vision to create their own future, no ambition to do something for themselves and substance abuse. Uplifting the youth to a level of creating their own future away from substance abuse.
Somerset West Area where I live
Belhar This is the community that I grew up in and moved back to - change is required.
Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Mandalay, Crossroads, Philippi, Bonteheuwel, Kensington, Maitland Garden Village Born and bred there; and also currently active in these "down-trodden" communities.
Gugulethu People are struggling
Macassar This community has grown in size but remains far from growing up to middle class community.
Hout Bay I come from there

Area and why I think it requires developmental interventions and my focus?
Elsies River, Uitsig, Ravensmead I grew up in this community and I have witness true potential within the community which cannot be explored due to a lack of resources.
Manenberg Have worked here before
Khayelitsha Poverty and unemployment
Khayelitsha Immense need for a transformed society
Athlone The place of my youth, my schools and friendships
Ravensmead, Belhar, Parow I live in the area and am involved with the Methodist Church circuit
Youth, Women Have historical affinity with these.
Paarl There are very few projects supporting development in this area, there is limited schooling and not a "popular" area for community sponsorship.
Bokmakierrie A small community with so much potential. It's small enough to make a big change. I already have links and relationships with young people and community workers.
Cape Flats Socio Economic reasons
Hout Bay Worked their for 7 years now would like growth in our youth and fathers
Rural Because of the huge needs
Domestic Violence / Woman Abuse I am a survivor of domestic violence
Muizenberg It is community where I live
Parkwood People beg at my door everyday
Communities of school children They are the new generation and will lead South Africa - if we can get students thinking differently we're going to create a beautiful future in SA
Unemployed If we have self esteem so much is possible.
Community engagement Desire to touch lives and better human co-existence.
False Bay I live here
Crossroads, Boys Town This community has been marginalised since many of the people had to move to Khayelitsha. The restoration of the need in this community is quite challenging.
Mitchell's Plain I work with all the high schools in the community on a daily basis and am acutely aware of the potential that schools hold to improve the community.

Kuilsriver, Mitchell's Plain Too much gangsterism, drug abuse Teenage pregnancies and School dropouts
Cape Town I live in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs and am interested in making a positive contribution to uplifting my community
Rural I have a tourism mandate to develop these communities
Bellville South The poverty and high crime rate in some areas in Bellville South.
Cape Flats Youth My local youth community. Focus on development, cultural heritage (slavery & indigene), creation of opportunity, livelihoods, motivation, providing a step- up in life and promoting a spirit of stepping up to the plate for life in terms of self-help and rendering community service.
